Erosion Model Simulation using Kawasaki Diffusion Dynamics

Abstract

A lattice-gas based diffusion model based on Kawasaki-sechange dynamics is used to model erosion in simulated landscapes and seabed systems. We explore the scalability of this model, using a minimal number of adjustable parameters to generate a range of erosion patterns and related phenomena. Wediscuss complex systems emergent properties of teh model and speculate on how a related family of models could be used to generate large scale and realistic erosion phenomena that could be used to characterise real world erosion systems.
