The Computational Science Research Group and associated members across the University of Hull form the Digital Centre, with core research interests including: complex systems; graph theory; domain-specific programming languages; agent-based modelling; and enabling technology such as supercomputing. The Centre's Director, Professor Ken Hawick, leads the team with Dr James Walker, Dr Nina Dethlefs, and Dr Alex Turner.
The Digital Centre's runs a number of Enterprise and Research and Software Development projects, with current main activities including:
"There are opportunities to work with us through: contract research and development; collaborative grant funded work; student work placements or student research internships or postgraduate study."Professor Ken Hawick, Director BSc, PhD, FInstP, FBCS, FRMetS, CPhys, CITP, SMACM, MIEEE, ACMI, MRSNZ, MIET
Summer interns are given access to state of the art hardware and open postgraduate student discussions. Recent summer projects include: 3D printing for sensor mounting on remote controlled and autonomous cars; deep learning investigations; and agent based financial modelling with supercomputing.
